Gastroenterologist, Endoscopy, Hepatologist – Dr Simon Glance & Dr Raouf Bassily (GastroNorth)
Dr Simon Glance is an experienced gastroenterologist with specialised training in Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Endoscopy, completed at The Royal Melbourne Hospital and Monash Medical Centre. He further advanced his expertise through a fellowship in Advanced Endoscopy, with proficiency in gastroscopy, colonoscopy, polypectomy, endoscopic dilatation, haemorrhoid banding and capsule endoscopy.
Dr Glance has a broad interest in all aspects of gastroenterology, including bowel cancer screening, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and liver disorders. He adopts a holistic and patient-centred approach to care, with a particular interest in the dietary management of gastrointestinal conditions. He strongly supports multidisciplinary care and works closely with specialist gastrointestinal dietitians to optimise patient outcomes.
Committed to continuous professional development, Dr Glance regularly attends national and international conferences to stay up to date with the latest advancements in gastroenterology and hepatology.

Dr Glance served as Director of Gastroenterology at Northern Health for over a decade, during which he was instrumental in developing and expanding the Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Endoscopy Unit. He currently holds the position of Deputy Director of Gastroenterology and is actively involved in medical education, supervising trainee physicians and medical students.
Dr Glance consults privately at GastroNorth, with rooms located in Bundoora, Whittlesea and Epping. He performs procedures at The Victorian Gut Centre and Northern Private Hospital.
